What Do Dermatologists Do?
A dermatologist is a doctor who treats skin diseases. Dermatologists care about the prevention and treatment of skin, nail and hair diseases, and sometimes perform minimally invasive skin treatments. A dermatologist that has a good knowledge of skin histology, physiology and pathological conditions plays an important role in aesthetic medicine as well.
Another niche of dermatology is sexually transmitted diseases, which often manifest themselves in the skin, which is why dermatologists are otherwise called dermatovenereologist.
